Privacy Policy
Preamble
Dear user, welcome to Lezismore (referred to below as "this platform"). Privacy protection is a core value of this platform: our principle is not to "collect first and safeguard well" — it is to avoid collecting in the first place, as much as possible. This policy explains what we actually collect, why, where it is kept, how long it is kept, and what rights you have.
This platform collects, processes, and uses personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act (個人資料保護法) of Taiwan. This platform (Lezismore, 濡沫) is the collector of your personal data. To exercise any of the rights listed in Article 9, or to make any request relating to your personal data, please email contact(at)lezismore.org.
1. Scope
1.1 This policy applies to the Lezismore Main Site (lezismore.org) and the Community forum (community.lezismore.org, including Fading Chat).
1.2 This policy does not apply to websites not owned or controlled by this platform. When you follow a link from this platform to another website (including payment pages), please refer to that website's own privacy policy.
2. What We Don't Do
- We do not require real-name verification, ID documents, or biometric verification.
- We do not require you to provide sensitive personal data such as gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, sex life, ethnicity, religion, or political views.
- We do not sell, rent, or exchange your personal data.
- We do not place third-party advertising or marketing trackers on the site (no Google Analytics, no ad pixels, no cross-site tracking cookies).
- We do not compile, profile, or analyze individual users' browsing behavior.
- We do not store your credit card data (payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe).
3. What We Actually Collect
3.1 Browsing the Main Site
The Main Site is a static website. It is hosted on Cloudflare, which generates aggregate traffic statistics and short-term technical logs for operational and security purposes; these are handled under Cloudflare's own privacy policy. This platform also uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies, does not track individual users, and shows page-view figures only in aggregate form.
3.2 Registering a Community Account
Required: an email address and a username. Everything else is optional. The system generates the necessary technical records (such as login records) for login and security purposes. If you choose not to provide this information, you will not be able to use Community features such as reading, posting, replying, private messages, or Fading Chat.
3.3 Subscriptions and Sponsorship (Stripe)
When you subscribe to Fading Chat or sponsor this platform, you will enter information (such as email and name) on Stripe's page, as Stripe requires. That information is collected and held by Stripe; this platform only receives a subscription-status callback (success/cancellation), used to activate and manage the service, and does not have access to your payment data. Stripe's handling of data is governed by its own privacy policy (https://stripe.com/privacy).
3.4 Contacting Us
When you contact us by email or messaging apps, we retain the contact information and message content you provide, for the purpose of replying to you.
3.5 Surveys and Events
Online surveys are, in principle, entirely anonymous. If a specific survey or event requires further information, this will be clearly disclosed and your consent obtained as part of that event.
3.6 Research and Collaboration Applications
When you submit a research, citation, or collaboration request through this site's application form, you must provide the information needed for review and contact (such as institution, contact name, and email; other fields depend on the type of request). This information is used to review your application, to contact you, and for follow-up correspondence, and is stored in the collaboration services this platform uses (see Article 7).
3.7 Page Echoes
Any echo you leave on a page (including an optional signature) is displayed publicly on that page, and is stored in the collaboration services this platform uses (see Article 7).
3.8 Platform Security and Abuse Prevention
To maintain service stability, prevent abuse, handle violations, and comply with legal requirements or take legal action where necessary, this platform may, to the extent necessary, record and retain relevant technical information and correspondence. This information is used only for the purposes stated above, and is not used to analyze your browsing preferences or for marketing. Where such data is processed using third-party services, the categories of service and the handling principles are described in Article 7.
4. Statement on Special (Sensitive) Personal Data
This platform does not actively collect or analyze the categories of personal data specified in Article 6 of the Personal Data Protection Act (個人資料保護法) (including sex life, which, under that Act's Enforcement Rules, refers to sexual orientation or sexual practice), nor does it actively collect or analyze information such as ethnicity, religion, or political views. Content you voluntarily post in the Community (such as self-descriptions or posts) reflects choices you make yourself about what to disclose; please pay attention to your visibility settings — the platform cannot control how other users save or use information you have made public.
The posting guidelines for certain boards (such as personals) are conditioned on the poster having voluntarily self-described their gender identity; the content and extent of that self-description are decided by the poster, and your consent is obtained separately during the posting process.
5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
5.1 The Main Site does not use cookies.
5.2 The Community forum uses functional cookies that are necessary to keep you logged in; these are not used for tracking or marketing. You can disable cookies in your browser, but you will then be unable to stay logged in.
5.3 Local storage (localStorage / sessionStorage): Although this site does not use cookies, it does use your browser’s local storage to remember a small amount of experience-related state: your entry confirmation, your language preference, which pages you have left a message on and how far you have read, and whether certain animations or passages have already been shown.
All of this stays in this browser on this device. It is never transmitted to us or to any third party, contains no personal data such as names or email addresses, carries no timestamps, and is not used for analytics or marketing.
If you chose “do not store” at the entry gate, this information is kept only for the current browsing session and disappears when you close the tab. You can also clear it at any time through your browser settings; doing so resets some state, such as your entry confirmation and language preference.
6. Data Retention and Use
6.1 Retention periods:
| Data | Retention period |
|---|---|
| Community account data (email, username) | For the life of the account; handled under 6.3 after the account is closed |
| Community posts | For the life of the account; handled under 6.3 after the account is closed. Once you remove content, it will no longer appear in ordinary Community interfaces |
| Fading Chat content | 60 days, after which the content is deleted from Fading Chat; content that has been reported, or that must be retained by law, is handled under the relevant items in this table |
| Subscription status records | For the duration of the service relationship, plus the retention period required under tax and accounting law |
| Contact correspondence | A reasonable period after the matter has been handled |
| Technical records | For as long as necessary for operations and security |
| Governance and safety case records | For the period necessary to handle violations, reports, appeals, disputes, and safety incidents, and to protect the relevant rights and interests |
| Case records that must be retained by law (e.g., intimate-image or child-safety-related reports) | For the period specified by the applicable law |
| Backup data | For the rotation period necessary for operations, security, and disaster recovery |
6.2 Where data is used and with whom: the location where this platform operates, and the locations of its service providers (see Article 7); we do not provide data to third parties except as required by law.
6.3 Account closure: Closing an account ends login and use of that account; the account's public identifying information in ordinary Community interfaces (for example, the username) is removed or replaced. Closure alone does not delete all existing Community content, replies by others, or governance and safety case records that have already been created; such data is handled under this Policy and applicable law. Closure does not prevent this platform from completing, to the extent necessary, a review of violations, safety action, appeal, or dispute concerning events that occurred before closure. Content that was quoted or reposted before you closed your account is handled under Article 3 of the Terms of Use. Requests to exercise rights concerning personal data are handled separately under Article 9.
7. Service Providers We Use
| Category of service | Purpose | Data that may be involved |
|---|---|---|
| Website hosting, content delivery, and security services | Main Site operation, traffic delivery, security protection | Connection data and necessary technical records |
| Community infrastructure, database, and backup services | Community forum operation, data storage, backup and recovery | Account data, Community content, and necessary technical records |
| Payment and transaction processing services | Subscription and transaction processing | Transaction status and necessary contact/transaction data (this platform does not have access to payment data) |
| Collaboration and case-management services | Page echoes, research and collaboration applications, and the handling of appeals, violations, safety incidents, and governance cases | Content and optional signatures provided by users, application data, necessary account data, case content, and related evidence |
This platform limits the scope of third-party processing according to purpose, contract, access controls, and data minimization; the specific service providers may change as operational needs evolve. Servers may be located outside Taiwan (for example, in the United States); we choose service providers that meet industry security standards, and data is transmitted encrypted.
8. Exceptions to Data Sharing and Disclosure
8.1 This platform does not provide, exchange, rent, or sell your personal data to any third party, except in the following circumstances:
8.1.1 With your authorization or consent.
8.1.2 Pursuant to a court order, or a formal written request from a law enforcement agency made through the procedure required by law.
8.1.3 To avert imminent danger to your life, body, liberty, or property.
8.1.4 For statistical or academic research purposes, where the data has been processed so that it can no longer identify a specific individual (see also the Guidelines on Sharing Community Governance Practice, Research Ethics, and Anonymization).
8.1.5 Where you have violated the platform's terms and policies, and disclosure is, on review, necessary to identify or contact you, or to take legal action.
8.2 Please note: this platform operates on a principle of data minimization; the data we actually hold is limited to what is listed in Article 3 — we cannot give you what we do not have.
9. Your Rights
9.1 Under the Personal Data Protection Act, you may exercise the following rights with respect to your personal data: to inquire about or review it; to obtain a copy of it; to have it supplemented or corrected; to request that its collection, processing, or use be stopped; and to have it deleted.
9.2 How to exercise these rights: email contact(at)lezismore.org. We will process your request and respond within a reasonable period.
9.3 Users outside Taiwan: this platform operates under the laws of Taiwan and does not provide localized services for other regions. If the law of the place where you are located grants you other data rights, please email us with an explanation; this platform may, depending on the circumstances, provide reasonable assistance, but does not thereby take on compliance obligations under any other jurisdiction's law. This section does not affect any right or obligation that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Data Security
10.1 The entire site uses encrypted transmission (TLS). Community forum passwords are stored using an industry-standard one-way hashing algorithm; this platform cannot read your original password. Databases are backed up regularly.
10.2 No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Please keep your account credentials safe, and take care when using shared devices.
10.3 Incident notification: If an incident occurs involving the theft, alteration, damage, loss, or disclosure of personal data held by this site, this site will, in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act and the relevant rules issued by the competent authority, investigate the facts, take response measures, and notify affected users within the timeframe and by the method required by law; where the law imposes a reporting obligation, this site will report the incident to the competent authority. Because this site holds contact information for only some users, where individual notification is not practicable, this site will make the disclosure by public means such as an on-site notice, as permitted by law, with the disclosure period handled per the competent authority's rules.
11. Policy Revisions
This platform may revise this policy; the current version is posted on this page. If you do not agree with a revision, please stop using this platform's services; you may also apply to close your account.
This policy was last updated on August 25, 2026.
